After a 6-month transformation, Mandarin Oriental, Singapore unveiled its biggest, most luxurious offering— the Royal Marina Bay Penthouse, the only in the country to offer an unobstructed panoramic view of the iconic Marina Bay skyline.

To promote it, we worked with Jonathan Shin, celebrated Singaporean conductor and composer, to create a grand orchestral piece, composed against the magnificent Singapore skyline from the vantage point of the room. The skyline and view point of the room not only inspired the piece but directly informed the notes and their placement on the score as well as the motifs explored throughout the piece - such as the movement of the water of the Marina Bay and the movement of the people around it.

Entitled Exceptional Bay Symphony, the piece was performed by a 20-piece orchestra from The Singapore Orchestra of Music Makers during the hotel’s grand opening ceremony in November 2023.

The musical piece was picked up by press and it's now the signature piece playing at the hotel lobby and in in-room entertainment welcoming guests to their rooms.
